This week, we remember the brave service men and women who fought and gave their lives in both World Wars, and those who have fallen since. There are services taking place across the constituency:
Chester Cathedral – This year’s Annual Service of Remembrance takes place on Sunday, November 10th. The service begins at 10am, and the military parade begins at 11:15am in St Werburgh Street, finishing in Northgate Street.
Kingsway Chapel Newton -Sunday 10th, Act of remembrance in morning worship service. The service starts at 10.30, and we keep the silence at 11am.
St. Michael’s Church Newton – Service will start at 10am with a 2 min silence at 11am. Some of the young people will be doing the Act of Remembrance readings.
All Saints Church Hoole Road – Sunday at 10.45am service with a 2 min silence and the act of remembrance at 11.00am. The Methodist Minister is also leading the act of remembrance at the War Memorial on Monday 11th November at 11.00am at All Saints.
Hoole – Royal British Legion Club will be holding their Annual Remembrance Parade/Service on Sunday 10th November. The Parade and Service of Remembrance starts at the R.B.L on Heath Road (Royal British Legion Club, 20 Heath Rd, Upton, Chester CH2 1HX). The parade leaves R.B.L at 9:40 and arrives at the church at 9:50. Depart from the Church 10:50. Arrive at the Upton Cenotaph 10:55. Last Post and 2 min silence at 11:00.
Hoole C of E Primary School – Service at the Primary school will start at 10:45am on Sunday 10th, you are invited to come along and eat brunch before the service from 10am. Service will include laying of poppies, 2 min silence and the last post.
St.Luke’s Church – Sunday service will start at 10:30am which will include the Act of Remembrance at 11:00am. This will be followed the Parade down Chester Road that will begin at 11:15am. For elderly or disabled guests, a free coach will be provided, with very kind courtesy of Stagecoach. Starting at 11:30 there will be a Memorial service at Saighton Camp Memorial including readings from Huntington Primary, Broughton Heath Academy and Bishops Blue Coat High school.
