Save our barracks

The Conservative Government has announced their intention to close the Dale Barracks in Chester and sell the land for housing.

I am starting this petition to demonstrate public support for our local armed forces. I am proud of the historic links between the local regiment and our city.

The men and women, and their families, who have served in our military at the Dale Barracks are an important part of our community - we don't want to lose them. This ill-conceived idea is no way to honour their work.

As a significant employer in Chester, these reckless proposals also risks long term damage to our local economy.  We won't stand for it - sign up now to show support and also so I can keep in contact with you about this issue in the future.

Having a Battalion in Chester enriches the local area, in so many ways.

I lived at 44 The Dale when my mother got the news that my father had been murdered by the IRA. The support systems were unbelievable. Chester needs these kind of people.

More asset stripping by the Tory government, to provide ‘profit opportunities’ for their private sector chums. 88 courts have been closed nationwide, so what happens to their city/town centre prime development sites? Sold off for office or housing development? These are OUR national assets, not the Tories’ property holdings for sales off to investors/developers as they see fit.
