I would like to start by assuring everyone that I have been against fox hunting all of my life and this will always be the case.
I have received over 700 emails about fox hunting from constituents these past weeks and I want you to know that I share your passion for animal rights. Rest assured I will continue to champion campaigns that fight for the welfare of animals throughout my time in parliament. Please do get in touch about any other campaigns that you feel I should be aware of.
You may already be aware, that the amendment to the Hunting Act was pulled from this weeks order of business because of pressure on the Scottish National Party not to abstain. This shows that even though David Cameron has a small majority, we can still defeat his government on issues that matter to people like you and me.
We can never let up on this issue, I suspect the fight is not over yet.
